FORGE - Adorning the Body: Parallels Between Jewellery Design & Tattoos
Thursday 16 May
This discussion looks at the parallels between jewellery design and tattoos as forms of body adornment, exploring commonalities in expression of identity, symbolism, craftsmanship, and the intimate relationship between wearer and adornment.
How both mediums serve as powerful means of self-expression, often conveying cultural, spiritual, or personal meanings through symbols and motifs.
Additionally, the discussion will highlight the craftsmanship and techniques involved in creating jewellery and tattoos, as well as the influence they exert on each other's aesthetics.
Led by Danila Tarcinale - Maggie Kerr of Norma Kerr, Tabitha Charlton and Emily Malice founder of Scorpio & Mars tattoo parlour, will explore these intersections, and gain a deeper understanding of the creativity, personal significance, and cultural context inherent in both jewellery design and tattooing.
