Glass artist Michèle Oberdieck draws inspiration from the natural world.
This installation of imagined fantasy plants and vegetation is intended to question the effects of climate change on our environment, food security and public perception of science in society.
What qualities do plants need to survive in the future? What will the crops look like? What are the consequences of our interventions?
Oberdieck translates her drawings from gestural sketches into fluid sculptural works rich in colour using hand-blown glass-making techniques to create her vision of the plants of the future.
