Combining glass fusing and flameworking processes, the body of her work titled a scaffold that is a shackle that is a shell explores the relationship between form and negative space. Questions that guide the work include what is a scaffold and what does it do? Is it something that both protects and restricts? When does it define an internal form, or does it accommodate one? Through this language of hard, structured rods and coarse, colourful frit, the poetic fragility but also resilience of glass is explored and celebrated.
