Following its exciting debut at Collect in 2023, 1882 Ltd. returns to showcase its dynamic and boundary-pushing Icon Collection of one-off or limited-edition pieces: a body of work that encompasses the impossible, the oversized, the complex and the unique. This year’s collection features work by leading British creative visionaries, including art director and set designer Shona Heath (recently acclaimed for the sets she has co-designed with James Price for Yorgos Lanthimos’ groundbreaking film Poor Things), furniture designer Max Lamb and ceramicist Amy Jayne Hughes.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent, 1882 Ltd. was founded by Emily Johnson and her father, Christopher, in 2011 as a design-driven ceramics company focused on a progressive, innovative and dynamic ethos that marries centuries-old traditional skills with contemporary thought and silhouette. Each piece is both sculptural art form and functional object, each one challenging the material, the master potter’s expertise and the artist’s ingenuity.
