Tableware
Tableware collections explore the historic technique of agateware prominent in the UK in 17th & 18th century industrial ceramics, notably Josiah Wedgewood. I use a combination of coloured clays that I prepare myself with oxides and stains to my own recipes. I use a porcelain type stoneware body, fired to stoneware, which I individually throw and turn, inside and out to accentuate the agate surfaces further. The colour combinations are inspired by those used for the bird vessels.
