Red Blanket, Blue Bowl, Wrench
Work made for the Cambridge Sustainability Residency.
On this residency I explored material juxtapositions in repair. Using broken objects gifted to me by women, I found materials which mimicked in some way their material characteristics to fix them with. The residency offered me the opportunity to do some material and conceptual research, forming the basis of a longer term investigation. The resulting objects were exhibited in Cambridge, and since then in Nottingham and London.

This blanket provided warmth and protection to the user. After moths attacked it, I fixed it with recycled tin patches, mimicking the protectiveness of the blanket with this material juxtaposition.
