This was also part of the Daughters of Penelope at the Dovecot in Edinburgh. The piece is made from three overlapping veils, hung, each is 90cm by 2m made using the split reed leaves. These veils explore our fragile inter-relationship with the world around us and how it changes through small individual actions.Caroline DearHighland Council, ScotlandSoundings and Moss circle at Dovecot, CDearpublic viewing veils and moss circle at Dovecotsoundings, veils in Finland, C.Dearviewing through veilssoundings, detail with shadow, C.Deardetail from rush veil showing shadowSoundingsAboutFollowing a residency in Finland where we explored the ecological problems associated with reed, I created this piece, Soundings for the exhibition, Vassen Sussar.
