Crafts CouncilDirectoryChris EckersleyDevon chairAboutI made the original version of this chair at an event at the Contemporary Craft Festival in Devon. Although at the time I'd been working with a specialist chair company, the idea with this design is that I could make it myself without the need for any fancy equipment. So the seat is faceted and not adzed, and the back rail is laminated instead of being steam-bent. When I went back to making most of my pieces myself during lockdown, this is the first piece I produced.
