While I was there I saw much of the way of life as well as skilled craftspeople in the city. Jingdezhen is the main centre for ceramics in China and is the home of porcelain production. This tea set, made after my return home, is a reflection of that time in China and was, along with the rest of my collection, returned to Shanghai a year later for a solo exhibition at the Mufei Gallery.Jo Davies CeramicsLondon, EnglandTray and Jug without Handle, Photo: Matthew BoothWheel-thrown porcelainSmall Cups, Photo: Matthew BoothWheel-thrown porcelain drinking cupsJugs with Handles, Photo: Matthew BoothWheel-thrown porcelain jugsLidded Pot, Photo: Matthew BoothWheel-thrown porcelain, designed as the Brew Pot or Gaiwan for Chinese TeaChinese Tea SetAboutIn 2018 I travelled to China, having been asked to teach at the Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute.
