I Cannot Feel But I Do
Bereaved through suicide, Julie uses mark making to navigate complicated feelings.
Determined to take risks, Julie has used unfamiliar processes to explore how the materiality of the mark can embody more than line and form itself. Using gentle touch with her eyes closed, Julie makes inhibited marks that respond to the feel of her body and the anxieties of her mind. With a freedom not found before, a conversation is allowed to happen without direction or pain.
