I adapted their patterns from real species which I embroidered into the wings and mounted them on wires to give the effect of them floating. After the success of the butterflies I was asked to create a wreath of winter flora and paper birds for the window at Christmas. I created snow drops, Anemones, ferns and carved Robins and Gold finches from paper, embroidering their wings to add colour and texture.
