Paul Wells Silversmith and Jeweller Birmingham, England
Paul Wells is an award-winning silversmith and jeweller, renowned for his use of direct metalworking techniques such as forging and milling. Wells’ jewellery also makes innovative use of foldforming and he has recently developed his own method of scorefolding sheet metal to create unique forms, which bridge the gap between origami and architectural modelling.
Having taught at several London colleges for more than two decades, Paul Wells is a respected educator and keen advocate of foldforming.
Gold GCDC Award for Technological Innovation for Paul Wells 25 February 2019
Paul Wells has been awarded prestigious recognition by the Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council for his innovative development of Curved Score Folding. Five of his pieces are on show at Goldsmiths' Hall until 1st March 2019.

The Contemporary British Silversmiths 25th Anniversary Symposium gave Paul Wells the opportunity to showcase his technique and maverick approach to metalworking. A recording of the talk is hosted on the Goldsmiths Centre resources programme.
