LIGHTHOUSE (a sculpture about extinction)
Livestock make up 62% of the world’s mammal biomass.
Humans account for 34%.
Wild mammals are just 4%.
Lighthouses are a beacon on the edge of land and sea to warn boats of the danger of smashing on rocks. This sculpture is a more general metaphor warning of invisible dangers.
Here the lantern windows depict endangered species at risk of extinction, currently at over 100 times than that considered 'normal' by scientists.
