Description
We are pleased to present a range of self-directed residencies for professional Silversmiths at The Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop (MSW) located on the Marchmont Estate in Duns, Scotland.
At present, we have four Silversmiths at the workshop, with an additional fifth bench space to support the short-term residency programme. From 1-week to 1-month long residency options, this provides Silversmiths with an opportunity to work in a fully equipped shared workshop in the peaceful rural backdrop of the Marchmont Estate.
The fifth bench in the workshop dedicated to residencies is the workbench of the late Master Silversmith Graham Stewart, whose generous gift of tools and equipment was the catalyst for this new home of Silversmithing in Scotland.
These self-funded residencies provide opportunities for those with their own funding to spend time for professional development at MSW.
We welcome individuals to meet the costs of a residency through, for example, their own funding or the direct support of academic institutions, public funders or foundations.
