The British Academy of Jewellery (BAJ) is seeking a Workshop Assistant Technician to support the smooth and efficient operation of our Technician's Office, workshops, and classrooms. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of our technical facilities and learning environment.
About Us: At BAJ, we believe that technical training is the foundation of creativity in jewellery making. We offer government-accredited diplomas, apprenticeships, and short courses designed to equip learners with the skills needed to innovate and flourish in today's jewellery industry.
Role Overview: This is a learner-facing position focused on the maintenance of equipment and workshop protocols, rather than actual jewellery making. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organised, and possess a good understanding of jewellery-making materials and tools. We would also welcome current and previous BAJ learners for this role.
Job Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:
- Good understanding of jewellery-making materials and tools
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Google drive, sheets and docs would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment
