Capable of creating everything from jewel-like pots to mammoth sculptures, the medium of ceramics demands experimentation. For this talk, held on 26 November 2022 to mark the Hayward Gallery’s Strange Clay exhibition, artists Aaron Angell and Serena Korda come together to discuss the versatility of ceramics and how using different glazes, clays and firing techniques help realise their unique creative visions.
Accompanying the pair is Strange Clay’s curator, Cliff Lauson – who shares additional insights on the exhibition and its themes– and chairing the talk is Crafts magazine’s deputy editor Isabella Smith, who has recently written a book on the revered potter Lucie Rie. This talk was recorded as audio only; we hope you enjoy listening.
