About the event
Can makers help us understand the human experience better? To mark the launch of Crafts’ Mind & Body issue (May/June 2021), the magazine invites you to an online talk exploring how makers are confronting our vulnerabilities, communicating hard science and shedding fresh light on our inner worlds.
Join us at 18:00 on 5th May 2021 to discover the extraordinary work of our panellists:
- Jacob van der Beugel, whose concrete and ceramic sculptures explore human DNA, genes and the mutation of cells
- Luke Jerram, famed for his visualisations of Covid-19 and the AstraZeneca vaccine, which went viral
- Kazuki Takizawa, whose glass sculptures shatter stigmas about mental health
The discussion will be chaired by Katy Barrett, curator of art collections at the Science Museum.
This talk is free to subscribers. If you are a subscriber, you will have received an email from us with your promotion code. If not, email us on crafts@craftscouncil.org.uk
