Join the Crafts Council and partners on Wednesday 12 October from 4-5.30 pm as we discuss and make plans for decolonising the craft, art and design curriculum.
This will be an interactive co-produced session that will lead us through activities and discussions, allowing education provisions and professionals to examine opportunities to develop an anti-racist approach to learning in the classroom. We will be using The National Society for Education in Art & Design's (NSEAD) anti-racism checklist to underpin our conversation and will be bringing in an expert on anti-racism in education to lead the co-produced part of the CPD.
You will leave this session with a starting place and tools for making your craft, art and design curriculums anti-racist in your classrooms. We are offering this event as part of our specialist CPD program for Craft School: Yinka’s Challenge however this is an open event that is suitable for craft teachers and maker educators from KS1 - KS4.
