Join us for a magical and relaxed Halloween gathering hosted by Harry Clayton-Wright at Blackpool Central Library from 11.30-3.30pm on Saturday 30 October.
This event follows in the footsteps of Harry’s recent run of Super Social Sundays at the Old Electric, providing a relaxed space for LGBTQ+ people to socialise and connect in a sober and gentle environment.
A highlight of the afternoon is an inclusive ceramics workshop with artist Morgan Dowdall. Morgan will guide you as we create striking ceramic collages inspired by the theme of magic. We’ll draw inspiration from the collections held at Blackpool Central Library/Showtown (Blackpool’s new museum of fun and entertainment), local and popular culture, as well as Morgan’s own work.
The activity will start with an introduction to Morgan’s fascinating practice. The workshop will consist of an outline of the technique and its principles and a guided tutorial supported by our friendly workshop volunteers. All materials and tools will be provided and beginners are warmly welcomed.
We’ll have plenty of tea, snacks, conversation and great tunes - all in a friendly, sober environment. Over the course of the afternoon, there will be two workshop sessions and you are very welcome to come and relax with us when you’re not taking part in the ceramics activity.
