Float – dividing the line, is the latest exploration for architect/ceramicist Alison Clark. Lines of clay remain the starting point, wrapped through fingers or looped and pinched, to form intimate building components. When balanced and stacked these fragments create baffling intricate structures that warp and shift with the heat of transformation to produce fluid unpredictable forms. The artist invites the viewer to conjure up nests, clouds or perhaps ancient artefacts. For Collect, the artist has extended her personal journey of making with the introduction of ‘glass horizons’ celebrating an ambiguous process of sectional composition allowing increasing scale and complexity.
