Adrienne Rogers is a fibre artist who explores unique characteristics and relationships between light, materials, pattern, surface and form. Her pieces are created utilising ancient techniques including knitting, knotting and weaving. Central to her current work are hand-knitted monofilament pieces. Gradients of light, colour and translucence pass over these organic forms. The pieces represent the intriguing duality that happens between light and physical matter. Critical to the experience is the subtle emotional transformation that occurs with the absence or presence of light and energy. In the tradition of the Light and Space artists, these optimistic, uplifting pieces encourage observation and discovery.
