Founded by Marie-José van den Hout, Galerie Marzee has been a driving force in the promotion of contemporary jewellery and metalwork from around the world since 1979. Based in the Netherlands, Marzee represents both established and emerging makers whose work is eloquent and poetic, balancing technical and intellectual rigour with an individual sensibility and a deeply personal vocabulary of materials and motivation.
Alongside its permanent Marzee Collection, which opened to the public for the gallery’s 25th anniversary in 2004, Marzee presents four exhibitions every year, each showing work by a number of its artists, as well as the annual Marzee International Graduate Show, which showcases the very best work by students from schools and academies around the world.
