Established in 2018, AIFA Gallery is dedicated to showcasing significant contemporary Japanese art beyond Japan’s borders. AIFA’s curated exhibitions include fine ceramics, lacquerware, sculptures, paintings and works on paper, reflecting its ambition to accurately represent the exceptional diversity of the Japanese contemporary art scene. The gallery represents artists such as Kenji Gomi, a ceramicist whose works are featured in prestigious collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Kohei Ukai, a lacquerware artist, was a finalist for the 2020 Loewe Foundation Craft Prize. Painter Aya Kawato, whose works are part of prominent collections, held an exhibition at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art in 2022 and participated in the 2023 exhibition Nippon Mania at the Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren in Germany.
