Each piece is unique with much care and attention being taken to create a picture on a flat sheet of porcelain - as if creating a painting. The sheet is then formed into the shape that I want the lighting piece to be. Individual lighting pieces are often fired and refired until I am happy with the finish. Not all pieces make the shop front.Liz Emtage Ceramics StudioSaint Leonards, EnglandLarge Seaweed Tree Lamp, Photo: Véronique LeplatThis large Seaweed Tree Lamp was impressed with seaweed that I found on the beach. I was immediately struck by how it looked exactly like a tree and I wanted to see how it would look impressed into porcelain and made into a lamp. In this photograph you can see how the lamp design reflects the vine growing in the client’s garden. There is a feeling of connection between the outside and the inside of the home. W: 19cm x D: 17cm x H: 45cmSmall Lava Lamp, Photo: Véronique LeplatI wanted to make a lamp that gave out a really hot red glow, something reminiscent of lava or a hearth fire. I was thinking about the feeling of relaxation and healing that you get from the heat of an open fire. This Lava Lamp gives visual warmth and intrigue to the corner of this sitting room. H: 30cm x W: 18cm x D: 17cmLarge Aqua Gingko Lamp, Photo: Véronique LeplatThe Large Aqua Ginko lamp (above) was inspired by the delicacy of linear patterns on gingko leaves. It transforms from being a subtle green colour, when off, to a strong fresh green when illuminated in a darkened room. In this photograph it gives a fresh unusual light to a dark corner of the client’s home office. Allowing for moments of contemplation and reflection (resting the eyes away from the computer screen). H: 46cm x W: 22cm x D: 14cmLarge Queen Anne's Lace Lamp, Photo: Véronique LeplatI love these Queen Anne's Lace flowers, which I have collected from local woodland here in St Leonards. When they come out in May I know that we are heading into the warmer months and the sight of them makes me happy. The Queen Anne’s Lace lamp brings a softness to this mantle piece area - perfect to change down to a more comfortable mood in the evening.
